Nicole Torres
Nicole Torres is an Office Coordinator at Designing Smiles. She has five years of dental experience starting from 2006 when she graduated in San Jose California.
In 2006 Nicole was a Certified Dental Assistant working with another office. While working as an assistant she found herself supporting the front office on a daily bases and grew to understand all aspects of the dental field. Nicole has now mastered a front office position for three years.
In Nicole's free time she enjoys hiking in beautiful new areas. When Nicole is not hiking you could find her participating in a softball game or spending her time with her nephews. She loves to go back to James Logan High School where she came from and watch games on Friday nights with relatives and friends. On her off time she studies the woman of her culture, Mexican American Woman in History.
Nicole truly takes joy in working for Dr. Evangelista she has stated "Dr. Evangelista is the most accomplished dentist I have ever worked with". Nicole's philosophy in life is "What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger". With this positive outlook on life Nicole is determined to bring this practice to the next level.
Shawna Michel-Hernandez
Shawna's proficiency has blossomed her into Dr. Evangelista's youngest but most able Office Coordinator. In her time working at Designing Smiles she has gained an abundance of knowledge and is now fascinated with dentistry. She believes in Dr. Evangelista's practice and plans to continue working with the office for years to come. Shawna adores meeting new people and appreciates the fact that she gets to interact daily with patients.
When not hard at work Shawna takes pleasure in watching the San Francisco Giants play ball at AT&T Park. She also loves her Oakland Raiders, LA Lakers, San Jose Sharks, and the Golden State Warriors.
Shawna is a member of the Band Together for Lupus, and Raise Awareness for Lupus Foundation, she participates every year in their annual activities. Shawna comes from a huge Mexican family, loves to dance and dedicates countless hours to her community in Union City.
Her passion is working with the staff to make every visit at Designing Smiles the best dental experience. The Staff believes Shawna has the ability to explain and break down to patients in "real world" terms and explanations. She can help patients to better understand their dental solutions and questions. Most patients say the experience she helps create is like that of no other dental office.
