Is laser dentistry safe?

Laser dentistry is carefully regulated and used with strict safety protocols, including protective eyewear. We select settings and techniques based on your teeth, gums, and medical history, and we only use the laser when it is the right choice for your situation.

Does laser dentistry really feel different from traditional drills?

Most people find laser visits more comfortable because there is less heat, pressure, and vibration. For many small or shallow treatments, this means less discomfort during the visit and less soreness afterwards.

Will I still need numbing injections?

It depends on the procedure. Some soft-tissue and shallow treatments can be done with little or no anesthetic. For deeper work, we may still recommend numbing so you stay completely comfortable. We'll let you know what to expect before we begin.

What kinds of treatments can lasers help with?

In our practice, lasers are most often used to help treat gum disease, refine or disinfect tissue around teeth and implants, assist with certain fillings, and activate in-office whitening gels. We combine them with traditional techniques to get the best result with the least disruption.

Is laser dentistry more expensive?
